Columbus Recall Tom Sestito From AHL Syracuse
November 15th, 2009 | by sweetbob |
Since Raffi Torres appears to be on the shelf for more than a week, the Blue Jackets had to dip into their farm system and dress a player from Syracuse. They decided to call up left-winger, Tom Sestito, who has seen one game of action for the Blue Jackets back in 2007-08.
Sestito was drafted by the Blue Jackets in 2006 as the 89th overall pick in the 3rd round. He has spent time with the Plymouth Whalers and the Syracuse Crunch. He has a large body and is very physical for a left-winger. He has also increase his ability to score.
Columbus has had issues with staying physical and Sestito will help the club out. He’s another Jared Boll-type of players, if he can help be an enforcer without making costly penalties, he could stick on the team or be the guy they call up when one of their forwards goes on injured reserve.
Here’s a fight between Tom Sestito and Scott Todd
